Why Bundling a Tracker With Your Immobiliser Is Worth It
A question I get a lot: “I’ve already got an immobiliser, do I really need a tracker as well?” Fair question, and the short answer is they actually do two completely different jobs, which is exactly why they work so well together.
An immobiliser stops the car being driven away in the first place. That’s prevention. A tracker is your backup if prevention somehow fails anyway, whether that’s a determined thief, a key that’s been stolen, or a car that’s gone missing from a car park you weren’t watching. That’s recovery. One without the other leaves a gap.
We do a Tracker & Immobiliser Bundle for exactly this reason, pairing a Nitro Pro immobiliser with a TrackManager or Starline tracker, and it works out better value than buying the two separately.
What I don’t think people always realise is that you’re not locked into whichever tracker tier you start with. TrackManager gives you the flexibility to upgrade or downgrade between the S5 and S7 as your circumstances change, whether that’s a change of vehicle, a jump in value, or your insurer asking for a higher category of tracking further down the line. You’re not stuck re-fitting a whole new system if your needs shift.
It’s a bit like insurance in that sense. Hopefully you never actually need the recovery side of things. But if you ever do, you’ll be glad it was there, and glad it was matched properly to what you actually needed rather than whatever happened to be cheapest at the time.
If you’re weighing up whether a bundle makes sense for your car, happy to talk through the options whenever suits.
