Ghost Immobiliser Locks the Gearbox in PARK — No PIN, No Drive
"Immobiliser" can sound like a vague marketing word until you see what it actually does. On this install, we configured the Autowatch Ghost to lock the gearbox in PARK — until the correct PIN is entered on the vehicle's own factory buttons, the car simply cannot be shifted into Drive, Reverse, or anything else.
Why This Is Different From a Basic Immobiliser
A lot of immobilisers just stop the engine turning over. This goes a step further: even if a thief got the ignition on somehow, the transmission itself stays locked in PARK. There's no gear to select, so there's nowhere to drive to.
And there's nothing for a thief to find or interfere with in the first place. The Ghost has no LEDs, no extra fob, and doesn't emit any RF signal — nothing to detect, clone, or jam. You disarm it using a PIN sequence on buttons that are already in your car — steering wheel controls, door panel buttons, whatever's available — not anything bolted on afterwards.
This is the Ghost's everyday behaviour, not a special remote-triggered mode. It's active any time the correct sequence hasn't been entered — not something switched on remotely in response to a signal, the way our Nitro Pro's remote anti-hijack feature works when paired with a tracker. Different mechanism, same underlying idea: no correct authorisation, no way to drive.

- Keyless entry theft — nothing wireless for a relay device to intercept
- Relay attacks — the PIN sequence isn't transmitted, so there's no signal to capture
- OBD reprogramming — a cloned or emulated key still can't move the transmission out of PARK
